A Milestone for Libya, A Validation of Our Strategy
Today, 30 August 2026, Libya reached another important milestone.
At the UNSMIL – United Nations Support Mission in Libya headquarters in Tripoli, representatives of Libya’s principal western and eastern institutions concluded a UN facilitated agreement within the 4+4 framework, addressing key electoral issues and establishing a pathway toward presidential and parliamentary elections within 24 months.
For The R.Rockefeller S. C. this development has particular significance because it moves in the same direction we have pursued in Libya since 2024 🇱🇾
Through Lassaad Kedimi our President of R.Rockefeller S.C. North Africa and CEO of our Tunisia branch 🇹🇳, we have progressively built institutional relationships across Libya, maintaining dialogue with different national realities while preserving one neutral corporate and technical position.
In Western Libya, our institutional track has developed through Tripoli and Misrata, including cooperation with the Ministry of Industry & Minerals and the Misrata Green Industry Center, together with our industrial partners.
At the same time, we have established an Eastern and Southern track centred on Benghazi, through RRSC Libya, Abarco and our strategic local network.
This has allowed R.Rockefeller S.C. to achieve something still unusual for a Western private group operating in Libya🇱🇾: developing structured cooperation and direct relationships across both principal Libyan areas, without positioning ourselves politically against either side.
During the last few days, this strategy has advanced further through new strategic agreements with senior counterparts connected to both Libyan leaderships, which we will officially present in the coming days.
Our objective has always been larger than two separate agreements.
We hope that the political process now underway will progressively create the conditions for the leaderships and institutions of both areas to meet, coordinate and build a common national framework.
Today’s United Nations development therefore strongly reinforces the logic behind the position R.Rockefeller S.C. adopted more than two years ago:
One Libya.
Two operating tracks where necessary.
One technical standard.
One long-term vision.
We will continue working with our institutional and industrial partners in the West, East and South, supporting stability, development and the progressive integration of Libya into a stronger regional and international framework…And after having built the base of the nations and the necessary assets over the last two years, our field activities in Libya will begin next October 2026… as previously announced, also with strategic participants directly connected to the leadership of the areas involved… further information in the next few weeks
